Ingredients:
500g ground beef
1 egg
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 tsp black pepper
1 large onion
2 tbsp flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can Campbell’s French onion soup
Instructions:
Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
Form Steaks: Shape the beef mixture into patties (about 4 to 6 pieces depending on the size you prefer).
Cook the Steaks: Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the patties until browned on both sides. Set them aside.
Prepare the Onion Gravy: In the same pan, add olive oil and butter. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and golden. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Make the Gravy: Pour in the beef broth and French onion soup. Stir in Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and let the gravy thicken.
Combine and Simmer: Return the patties to the pan with the gravy and simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the steaks to absorb the gravy flavor.
Serve: Serve the Salisbury steaks with the onion gravy, mashed potatoes, or your favorite side dish!
