📝 Ingredients
3 medium potatoes (boiled and mashed)
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Oil for frying (or brushing if baking)
🍳 Instructions
Prepare the Potatoes
Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash them smoothly while still warm. Let them cool slightly.
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, flour, cornstarch, parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Shape the Dough
Lightly flour your work surface. Roll out the dough to about 1 cm thickness, then cut into small squares or rectangles.
Cook the Bites
Frying Method: Heat oil over medium heat and fry the pieces until golden and crispy (about 3–4 minutes).
Baking Method: Place on a lined baking tray, brush lightly with oil, and bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden.
Air Fryer Option: Cook at 180°C (350°F) for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway through.
Drain & Cool Slightly
Remove from oil or oven and let cool slightly before serving.
🍽️ Serving Suggestions
Serve hot with ketchup, garlic sauce, or cheese dip
Pair with sour cream or yogurt-based dips
Add to party platters or snack boards
Sprinkle extra herbs or grated cheese on top before serving
💡 Notes & Tips
Perfect Texture: Use dry, fluffy potatoes (like russet) to avoid sticky dough.
Cheese Choice: Mozzarella gives stretchiness, while cheddar adds stronger flavor—combine both for best results.
Extra Flavor: Add garlic powder, onion powder, or chili flakes for a kick.
Storage: Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer for crispiness.
Freezing: Freeze uncooked pieces on a tray, then store in bags for quick future snacks.
